Attractivity or Repellence: Relation between the Endophytic Fungi of <i>Acalypha</i>, <i>Colocasia</i> and the Leaf-Cutting Ants—<i>Atta sexdens</i>

Symbiotic relations are present in the nature and can contribute to success of organisms involved. Endophytic fungi live within leaf tissues without causing any harm host plant, some them be a defense mechanism against attack by leaf-cutting ants. Ants genus Atta known as ants have an obligatory association with fungus Leucoagaricus gongylophorus, cutting pieces leaves bringing back colony fungus. The study aimed find out endophytic community attractive plant (Acalypha wilkesiana) less (Colocasia esculenta) sexdens. We found that communities different quantity composition 73% isolated were from A. wilkesiana, which has ants, such Colletotrichum, Pestalotiopsis, Phomopsis Xylaria. On other hand, C. esculenta, there was Fusarium, reject fungal diversity than wilkesiana. Therefore, our data suggest attractivity or repelence could related presence ausence determinated more leaf.
